Select Your City | Select Another State | Drug Information by States To find out if there are any drug rehab treatment or counseling facilities serving people in East Boothbay, Maine that are suitable for your needs, please call 1-888-966-3784. There are hundreds, if not thousands of different types of alcohol addiction and drug detox and rehab programs. When choosing a drug rehab center for yourself or a loved one in need, it is important to become educated on the different types and what the end results are. Types of drug rehab programs include detoxification, outpatient counseling, short-term inpatient treatment (30-day program) and long-term residential treatment (longer than 60 days). Within these there are also medical models that use substitute drugs in the treatment process and there are drug-free programs that do not prescribe more drugs to addicts. Most drug rehab centers have some type of aftercare or follow-up program as well. On average for the country, approximately 90% of addicts go through outpatient treatment services instead of entering a residential rehabilitation program. (Source: SAMHSA) Longer-term residential treatment is overall more effective and a drug-free rehabilitation approach is better in the long run for the addict. Most rehab centers consider detoxification to be when the addict is no longer under the influence of the drug, but this is actually only withdrawal. At the Narconon Drug Detox and Rehab Program we have a very unique and effective detox procedure that actually rids the body of the old drug residues, which in turn eliminates physical cravings for the drugs and allows a person to feel much healthier mentally and physically. This is called the Narconon New Life Detoxification Program and is part of the Narconon Drug Detox and Rehab Program's long-term residential treatment. To make a successful recovery, the addict needs new tools in order to deal with situations and problems that are part of everyday life. Factors such as encountering someone from their days of using, returning to the same environment and places, or even small things such as smells and objects trigger memories which can create a desire to use drugs again. This can hinder the addict's goal of complete recovery and prevent them from permanently regaining control of their life. The Narconon Drug Detox and Rehab Program provides the life skills necessary to overcome these barriers and have a successful, permanent recovery so that former addicts can lead a healthy, productive and drug-free life. The Narconon Drug Detox and Rehab Program has helped thousands of people from all over the United States and other countries overcome addiction. The results speak for themselves. Approximately 70% of Narconon program graduates remain drug-free. Regardless of where you are in the country, contact a Narconon consultant today to get the help you're looking for. Maine Drug Information provided by the U.S. Drug Enforcement AdministrationDrug Situation: Marijuana, locally grown and imported from Canada, Massachusetts, and New York, remains the primary drug of abuse in Maine. The use and availability of cocaine, heroin, and diverted pharmaceuticals continues to increase. Methamphetamine remains a minor concern, but significant potential exists for production and distribution in the state. Interstate 95 provides an important north-south transportation route for traffickers travelling most frequently to sources of drug supply in several northeastern Massachusetts cities. Additionally, Maine's 228 miles of coastline and 3,478 miles of shoreline offer ample opportunities for maritime smugglers.
Hashish is available sporadically in small quantities, but the increasing popularity of hashish in Canada may change the situation in Maine. Traffickers have moved hashish and hash oil through Maine and into Canada. Caucasian traffickers typically supply locally grown marijuana as well as marijuana shipped from the southwest border and Canada. Shipments ranging from 15 to 500 pounds typically enter the state via Interstate 95 in automobiles, campers, rental trucks, and tractor-trailers. Motorcycle groups continue to control much of the marijuana distribution in Maine, using associates to distribute approximately 300 to 500 pounds monthly. See also: Marijuana Facts, Effects of Heavy Marijuana Use on Learning and Social Behavior Marijuana Legislation: Maine has a number of statutes related to marijuana possession, cultivation, trafficking, therapeutic research programs, paraphernalia, illegal importation, and asset forfeiture. These laws are often cited as the reason that Maine residents must travel to obtain their illicit drugs from out-of-state traffickers wary of the state's tough drug laws.
DEA Regional Enforcement Teams: Designed to augment existing DEA division resources, this program was conceived in 1999 in response to the threat posed by drug trafficking organizations that have established networks of cells to conduct drug-trafficking operations in smaller, non-traditional trafficking locations in the United States. As of January 31, 2005, there have been 27 deployments nationwide, and one deployment in the U.S. Virgin Islands, resulting in 671 arrests. There have been no RET deployments in the state of Maine. Other Enforcement Operations: "The New England Pipeline" (I-95) remains the interdiction focus in Maine since it travels through the interior of the state, connects several of the larger cities, and terminates at the Canadian border.
